ToonJam Studios provides quality cartoon character design services. The character designs we create differ from mascot creation for a number of reasons. The cartoon character designs are mainly for animators’ references, or for writers creating characters for sitcoms, comic strips or graphic novels etc. They can also be used to build profiles for internet characters on games websites and such. When creating your character designs, we are capable of creating the characters using our initiative with little or lots of info. Alternatively, if you have in mind exactly what you’re after, we are more than capable of keeping strictly to your guidelines/ specifications.
Depending on what you’re using your characters for, would depend on the amount of drawings you need. For animators, their character designs would consist of about 6-8 angled drawing of one particular character. It could be even more extensive and include different face movements, hand gestures, costume changes, the lot! Graphic novel artists/ writers may just require 3-4 different angles.
A lot of character designs may require just the one angle. This might be because only angle is needed for a profile picture or avatar. This is common with online games, where we have created characters that will ultimately be used in games or just used as the profile (think Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat)
There are no rules though, everybody has their own preference to how many angles or poses that they need or can work from.
Our characters can be created in any format you desire, such as vector art, jpeg’s, png’s. We usually require a week’s time frame, however it depends on the size of the job in hand.
